Discussion on quarantine of exotic pests on islands and reefs in the South China Sea

Abstract：Exotic pests can damage the ecological environment of islands and reefs in the South China Sea,endangering the health of officers and soldiers.It is urgent to establish a sound quarantine and technical system.In this paper,the characteristics of geographical environment and exotic pests quarantine on these islands and reefs were analyzed,relevant concepts,laws and regulations were sorted out,and a quarantine list(10 vectors,21 pathogenic microorganisms and 3 other pests)was proposed according to the characteristics and actual conditions of quarantine on the islands and reefs.Some suggestions were put forward from the aspects of attaching importance to quarantine work,perfecting quarantine system and process,establishing professional quarantine team and combining with local quarantine force for reference by relevant departments.
