Analysis of the main vectors surveillance in Yandu District of Yancheng from 2019 to 2023

Abstract：Objective To understand the species,density and seasonal fluctuation of the main vectors in Yandu District of Yancheng,so as to provide a scientific basis for the prevention and control of vector-borne diseases.Methods The density of rodents was monitored by night trapping method,the density of adult mosquitoes was monitored by mosquito lamp method,the density of flies was monitored by cage trapping method,and the density of cockroaches was monitored by sticky trap method.The analysis of variance was used to compare the density differences between different years and different habitats.Results From 2019 to 2023,35 rodents of 3 species were captured in Yandu District of Yancheng.The dominant species was Rattus norvegicus,accounting for 51.43％.The average density was 0.19％,and the peak was in July.The density of rodents in rural natural villages was the highest(0.28％).There was statistical differences in densities of rodents between various habitats(F=18.090,P＜0.001).A total of 2 739 mosquitoes of 5 species were captured,and Culex pipiens pallens was the dominant mosquito species,accounting for 56.44％.The average density was 7.61 mosquitoes(light·night).The density peak was from June to August,and the density of mosquitoes in farmers was the highest[11.83 mosquitoes/(light·night)].There was statistical differences in densities of mosquitoes between various habitats(F=16.696,P=0.01).A total of 1 249 flies of 8 species were captured,and Musca domestica was the dominant species,accounting for 72.78％.The average density was 3.47 flies/cage.The density peak appeared from June to August,and the average density of flies in farmers'markets was the highest(4.24 flies/cage).There was statistical differences in densities of flies between various habitats(F=4.442,P=0.019).772 cockroaches of 2 species were captured.Blattella germanica was the absolute dominant species,accounting for 97.80％.The average density was 0.21 cockroaches/sheet.The density peak was in July,and the density of cockroaches in farmers'markets was the highest(0.51 cockroaches/sheet).There was statistical differences in densities of cockroaches between various habitats(F=196.380,P＜0.001).Conclusion The dominant species of main vectors in Yandu District were R.norvegicus,Cx.pipiens pallens,M.domestica and B.germanica.Comprehensive control measures should be taken before the peak of vectors activity based on densities and seasonal fluctuations.
