Abstract:Objective To investigate the density, species composition and seasonal fluctuation of fly in Chengguan District of Lanzhou,so as to provide a theoretical basis for fly control. Methods From May to October in 2017-2023,flies were monitored by cage trapping method. And the data were processed and analyzed with SPSS 21.0,with Fisher's exact probability test for the comparison of fly species composition and one-way analysis of variance for the comparison of fly density differences. Results From 2017 to 2023,a total of 897 cages were placed, and 2 709 flies were captured, with an average fly density of 3.02 flies per cage. The highest fly density was occurred in 2018,with the density of 4.56 flies per cage, and the lowest in 2023,with the density of 1.93 flies per cage. There was a significant difference in fly density between different years(F=3.960,P<0.05).In different habitats, the highest fly density was found in farmers'markets(5.38 flies per cage),followed by green spaces(3.61 flies per cage),while residential areas and the outdoor environment of catering establishments had the lowest fly densities(2.07 and 1.80 flies per cage, respectively),with statistically significant differences in fly density among different habitats(F=8.157,P<0.05).The dominant fly species from 2017 to 2023 were all Musca domestica. The seasonal fluctuation of fly density showed a double-peak trend, reaching a small peak in May-June,then gradually declining until reaching a peak in August. Conclusion M.domestica is the dominant species in Chengguan District of Lanzhou, with farmers'markets and green spaces being key areas of fly activity, peaking in August. It is recommended to take targeted control measures before the peak fly activity period to reduce fly density and decrease the incidence of fly-borne diseases.
