Study on the control effect of triptolide 0.25 mg/kg granules on rodents in farmland of Inner Mongolia

Abstract：Objective To verify the control effect and environmental safety of triptolide 0.25 mg/kg granules on farmland rodents in Horqin Right Front Banner of Xing'an League,Inner Mongolia.Methods In this experiment,0.005％bromine rat poison bait was used as the control agent,and the rodent density was determined using the night trapping method.The control effect of triptolide 0.25 mg/kg granules for controlling farmland rodents at 1.50 and 2.25 kg/hm2 were compared.And the palatability and the safety to non-target animals were observed.Results At 30,60,and 90 d after treatment,the control effects of triptolide 0.25 mg/kg granules at 1.50 and 2.25 kg/hm2 were higher than those of 0.005％bromine rat poison bait.The control effect of 2.25 kg/hm2 group was highest,and the corrected control efficacy at 30,60,and 90 d after treatment were 70.20％,72.33％and 69.40％,respectively.The pregnancy rates of rodents treated with triptolide 0.25 mg/kg granules at 1.50 and 2.25 kg/hm2 were lower than those of the control agent.The results of the bait feeding and safety investigation showed that the environmental safety of triptolide 0.25 mg/kg granules was higher than 0.005％bromine rat poison bait.Conclusion Triptolide 0.25 mg/kg granules is a new rodenticide with good control effects and high environmental safety.It can be promoted and used in the Horqin Right Front Banner of Xing'an League.
