Survey of dengue fever diagnosis and treatment knowledge among medical staff in Bao'an District,Shenzhen

Abstract：Objective To understand the current situation of dengue fever diagnosis and treatment knowledge of medical staff in medical institutions in Bao'an District,Shenzhen.Methods A simulated case questionnaire survey was conducted among 1 423 clinicians and public health doctors in 14 hospitals and 140 community health service centers with the right to report infectious diseases directly online in Bao'an District.Univariate analysis and multivariate logistic regression model were used to analyze the influence of basic characteristics on the diagnosis and treatment knowledge of dengue fever.Results According to the epidemiological history of dengue fever,typical clinical symptoms,physical signs and routine blood test results of the simulated cases,71.6%of the 1 423 medical staff passed the exam.The diagnostic accuracy of suspected dengue cases and severe dengue cases were 74.63%and 88.97%,respectively.The correct rate of treatment measures was 89.18%,and the correct rate of"the most suitable initial screening test"was 34.50%.Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences in the knowledge of DENV NS1 antigen as the primary screening test among medical staff with different working years,institution type,department and previous dengue treatment experience(all P＜0.05).Conclusion The knowledge of diagnosis and treatment of dengue fever among medical staff in Bao'an District of Shenzhen still needs to be strengthened,and the ability of early laboratory screening and diagnosis of dengue fever still needs to be further improved.
