A survey on the knowledge,attitude and practice regarding dengue fever prevention and control among construction workers and their influencing factors in Bao'an District,Shenzhen

Abstract：Objective To investigate the current status and influencing factors of dengue fever prevention and control knowledge,attitudes and practice among construction workers in Bao'an District,Shenzhen.Methods A cross-sectional survey was used to randomly select workers from 7 construction sites in Bao'an District to conduct an online electronic questionnaire survey.SPSS 25.0 software was used for describe and statistical analyze.The Chi-square test or Fisher's exact test was used for comparison of rates,and multifactorial logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the factors affecting the awareness rate of dengue fever knowledge,and the holding rates of prevention and control attitude and behavior of this population.Results A total of 403 questionnaires were obtained in this survey,among which the overall awareness rate of dengue fever prevention and control knowledge was 85.86%(346/403),the holding rate of prevention and control attitude was 67.99%(274/403),and the holding rate of prevention and control behavior was 48.64%(196/403).The most important source of construction workers to obtain dengue fever knowledge was WeChat official(64.52%).However,most people hoped to obtain dengue fever prevention and control knowledge through ＂training seminars＂(86.10%),and the core knowledge they wanted to know most about dengue fever was ＂how to prevent dengue fever＂(78.66%).When symptoms such as fever,muscle aches,and rash appeared,54.59%and 29.53%of the respondents preferred community health centers and general hospitals,respectively.There was a statistical difference between medical treatment behavior and whether to purchase medical insurance(P＜0.001).The results of multifactorial logistic regression analysis showed that working years,education level and average annual income were the influencing factors of dengue prevention and control knowledge(all P＜0.05),education level,average annual income and knowledge of dengue prevention and control was the influencing factor of dengue prevention and control attitude(all P＜0.05),and knowledge of dengue prevention and control was the influencing factor of dengue prevention and control behavior(P＜0.05).Conclusion The awareness rate of dengue fever prevention and control knowledge among construction workers in Bao'an District of Shenzhen is relatively high,but the holding rates of prevention and control attitude and behavior are relatively low.Targeted publicity and education measures should be formulated according to the education level and working years of construction workers,and the overall prevention and control awareness and behavior pattern of construction workers should be improved by strengthening the dissemination of health knowledge and health management,so as to effectively reduce the risk of dengue fever transmission.
