Abstract:Objective To understand the density and distribution of adult mosquitoes in Changsha from 2017 to 2023,so as to provide guidance for comprehensive control of Armigeres subalbatus. Methods The mosquito light trap method were used to capture adult Ar.subalbatus in residential areas, parks, hospitals, peasant household and pig pens from April to November in 2017 to 2023,and the population density, seasonal fluctuation and habitat distribution were analyzed. The mosquito density in different years, months and habitats were compared and analyzed by Kruskal-Wallis H test and Bonferroni method. Results The average mosquito density of female Ar.subalbatus in Changsha from 2017 to 2023 was 3.33 mosquitoes/(light·night),and there was no significant difference in mosquito density between different years(H=3.768,P=0.708).The seasonal fluctuation of mosquito density showed a bimodal distribution throughout the year, with a density peak in June and July[6.43 and 6.61 mosquitoes/(light·night),respectively],and a sub-peak in October[3.43 mosquito/(light·night)],and there was no statistical significance between different months(H=7.704,P=0.359).There was significant difference in mosquito density between different habitats(H=216.089,P<0.001).The highest density was 13.13 mosquitoes/(light·night)in pig pen, followed by 3.36 mosquitoes/(light·night)in peasant household. Conclusion Ar.subalbatus is mainly distributed in the rural areas of Changsha, and the peak density is mainly in June and July.Targeted control of Ar.subalbatus should be carried out according to the results of the monitoring, with a focus on strengthening environmental sanitation in rural areas to control the breeding of Ar.subalbatus.
