Abstract:Objective To investigate the density, distribution and seasonal fluctuation of flies, especially Musca domestica,in Tonghua City,so as to provide the basis for effective control of flies. Methods The flies were monitored in farmers'markets, green belts, outside catering environment and residential areasusing the cage trap method. The data were analyzed by SPSS 27.0 statistical software. The correlation between M.domestica density and the total fly density was determined through Spearman correlation analysis. The F test was used to analyze the difference in M.domestica density between habitats. Results From 2014 to 2023,a total of 2 745 M.domestica were captured, accounting for 45.83%of the total number, and the density reached its peak in July.In the four habitats,M.domestica accounted for 67.00%,71.11%,11.08%and 24.84%of the total flies, respectively. The density of M.domestica was correlated with total fly density(r=0.663,P=0.037).There was no significant difference in M.domestica density between the four habitats(F=2.480,P=0.077).Conclusion M.domestica is one of the dominant fly species in the monitoring of flies in Tonghua City, and its number directly affects the total fly density. The peak period of M.domestica is from July to August, which is the key period for fly control in this area.Combined with the establishment of a sanitary city, strengthening environmental regulation, and reasonable selection of insecticides, the control of flies has a good effect.
