Abstract:Objective To observe the laboratory repellent effects of six commercial mosquito repellent liquid products containing diethyltoluamide, ethyl butylacetylaminopropionate, icaridin, and lemon eucalyptus oil,on Aedes albopictus. Methods The evaluation of repellent efficacy was conducted according to the Laboratory Efficacy Test Methods and Criterions of Public Health Insecticides for Pesticide Registration-Part 9:Repellents(GB/T 13917.9-2009).Results The 20%icaridin repellent and 10%diethyltoluamide repellent showed the best efficacy, reaching grade A standards of GB/T 13917.9-2009.The 5%diethyltoluamide repellent, along with 4.5%and 7%ethyl butylacetylaminopropionate repellents, and the 15%lemon eucalyptus oil repellent all demonstrated effective protection times of less than 4 hours and did not meet the grade B standards of GB/T 13917.9-2009.Conclusion The 10%diethyltoluamide repellent and the 20%icaridin repellent are highly effective against Aedes albopictus, demonstrating significant practical value.
