Abstract：With global climate change and alterations in ecological environments,midge-borne diseases have emerged as significant public health concerns.Blood-sucking midges,as important vectors,not only feed on the blood of humans and animals but also spread a variety of pathogens,including bacteria,viruses,and parasites,leading to various diseases.This paper focus on the classification,ecology,and pathogenic microorganisms transmitted by blood-sucking midges in China and abroad,so as to promote related research on blood-sucking midges in China and provide theoretical foundations and practical guidance for the prevention and control of midge-borne diseases in China.
