Survey on the species composition of rodents and their external parasitic fleas in Dandong area

Abstract：Objective To investigate the species composition of rodents and their external parasitic fleas in Dandong area.Methods Rodents were captured by cage-night method,and the fleas were collected from the rodents.The species of rodents and their external parasitic fleas were classified and identified.Results A total of 449 rodents belonging to 3 families 7 genera 8 species were captured from Dandong area,and Rattus norvegicus(36.53%)and Apodemus agrarius(28.29%)were the dominant species.The composition of rodents in different habitats was different.485 fleas collected belonged to 10 species,9 genera,4 families,and Neopsylla bidentatiformis(31.34%)and Ctenophthalmus congeneroides congeneroides(25.77%)were the dominant species.The species composition of external parasitic fleas in different rodents was different.Conclusion The survey provides a scientific basis for further research and control of rodents and their transmitted diseases in Dandong area.
