Strategy and practice of vector control in the 31st Summer Universiade

Abstract：Vector control was one of important support work for large-scale international competitions.The 31st Summer Universiade(Chengdu Universiade)was the first large-scale international competition which was hold in Chengdu.The pressure and task of vector control were heavy.The risks of vector was analyzed,multistage vector control system was established,and a professional and technical team with a complete range of technologies was set up.The working model of prevention and control was monitoring-oriented and assessed,together with the implementation of a comprehensive control strategy.A hierarchical and overall supervision and guidance practice was carried out,based on support activities for vector control in urban areas.All of the work was carried out to guarantee the vector control during the Chengdu Universiade.The qualified rate of vector control in Universiade was 100％before opening.During the Chengdu Universiade,the goal of"No invasion","No infection"and"No harm"of vectors was achieved successfully,which can provide reference for future major events.
