Mosquitoes and flies surveillance in Qinhuangdao City from 2020 to 2023

Abstract：Objective To understand the density and population distribution of mosquitoes and flies in Qinhuangdao City,and to provide a reliable basis for the control work.Methods Mosquitoes and flies were monitored by mosquito lamp and cage trap,respectively.Results From 2020 to 2023,the mosquito and fly densities in Qinhuangdao City were 0.59 mosquitoes/(lamp·h)and 1.54 flies/cage,respectively.Culex pipiens pallens was the dominant species,accounting for 90.67％,while Musca domestica was the dominant species,accounting for 44.93％.The density peak of mosquitoes and flies took place in July each year.The mosquito density was higher in rural areas,livestock sheds,while the fly density was higher in farmers'markets,catering environment and green belt areas.Conclusion The mosquito density was high in rural areas and in livestock sheds,and the density of flies was high in farmers'markets,catering environments and green belts.It is necessary to strengthen the control of mosquitoes and flies in these areas.
