Distribution status of major tick species and research progress on tick-borne pathogens in Shandong

Abstract：Ticks are important medical arthropods that can transmit a wide range of pathogens,including parasites,bacteria,and viruses,resulting in serious public health burdens worldwide.Shandong Province located in the eastern China coastal area,surrounded by the sea Bohai Sea and Yellow Sea.With warm climate,well-defined seasons and diverse terrain,as possible contributors to promote spread of tick-borne pathogens.This paper reviews the research progress of distribution of tick species and tick-borne pathogens in Shandong,and summarizes the available updated set of records.These data provide scientific basis for preventing spread of ticks and tick-borne pathogens.
