Awareness rate survey of plague knowledge among hospital staff

Abstract:Objective To investigate the awareness status and influencing factorsof of hospital staff regarding knowledge related of plague,in order to assess the the hospital's emergency preparedness and response ability to deal with plague emergencies.Methods A questionair survey was conducted among the staff of Hohhot Stomatological Hospital(Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Stomatological Hospital)in November of 2023.The questionnaire included basic information of the staff,plague epidemiology knowledge and infection control measures and methods.Results A total of 270 questionnaires were distributed in this survey,with 253 valid questionnaires collected,resulting in an effective response rate of 93.7%.The awareness rate was 42.1%.Logistic regression analysis showed that the awareness rate of males was higher than that of females(OR=0.044).Occupational category was a protective factor of awareness rate,with higher occupational levels associated with higher awareness rate(OR= 1.333).Staff participated in the prevention work had a higher awareness rate compared to those who had not participated(OR= 0.446).Furthermore,the awareness rate of the staff who had received plague-related training was higher than that of the staff who had not participated(OR= 0.206).Conclusion The overall awareness rate of plague knowledge of hospital staff is relatively low.Targeted training should be carried out according to the analysis results to improve the capacities of plague diagnosis and treatment in the hospital.
