Abstract:Objective To understand the density, population composition and seasonal variation of flies in Shenyang, and to provide the basis for fly control. Methods The cage trapping method was adopted for the investigation of flies in different habitats from May to October each year from 2019 to 2023.Results From 2019 to 2023,a total of 245 fly cages were placed in Shenyang, and 15739 flies were captured, belonging to 12 species of 9 genera,5 families, with an annual average density of 64.24 flies/cage.The density of flies in different habitats were mainly green belt, residential area, farmer's market and outside dining environment, and Lucilia sericulata and Muscina stabulans were the dominant species accounting for 38.52%and 23.66%.The seasonal fluctuation of flies showed a unimodal curve from 2019 to 2023.The density of flies gradually decreased after reaching a peak from June to August, and the activity of flies decreased in October. Conclusion In Shenyang, flies are mainly in the green belt and residential areas, and the peak of fly activity is from June to August. In the process of fly control, targeted measures should be taken based on the seasonal dynamics.
