Abstract:Objective To learn the density and seasonal variation of flies in Laoshan District of Qingdao, and provide reference for the prevention and control of flies. Methods Cage traps were applied in the surveillance. Results From 2019 to 2022,a total of 4 348 flies were captured, and the average density was 15.10 flies per cage. The annual fly densities were 21.99,17.53,11.67 and 9.21 flies per cage respectively from 2019 to 2021,showing a decreasing trend yearly.Musca domestica,Lucilia sericata sarcophagids and Callipho vicina Robine were the dominant species, accounting for 33.85%,24.45%,11.73%and 11.18%.The differences in the density of flies were not significant among different habitats. The density of flies peaked in July and August. Conclusion Long-term and systematic monitoring of fly density is needed to provide scientific basis for formulating comprehensive fly control strategies.
