Abstract:Objective To investigate the infestation of Aedes albopictus in various schools in Changning District from April to November and observe the effect of field control,so as to provide reference for mosquito control in schools. Methods From April to November,A.albopictus was monitored in 5 middle schools,5 primary schools and 5 kindergartens in Changning District by means of mosquito breeding sites,mosq-ovitrap index(MOI)and human-baited trapping. In these schools,2 middle schools,2 primary schools and 2 kindergartens were selected to set up experimental groups and control groups, respectively,to implement prevention and control measures, and to observe the effect. Results In Changning District, the positive rate and stopping index of knindergartens breeding sites were higher than the local standard of Shanghai from June to October, and the positive rate and stopping index of primary and middle schools were higher than the local standard of Shanghai from August to September. The highest positive rate of knidergartens breeding sites was 24.66%,followed by middle schools(17.46%)and primary schools(16.6%).The mosq-ovitrap index(MOI)of all schools from July to September was greater than 5.After the control measures were implemented every week from June to September, the mosquito breeding site positive rate and stopping and landing index of the three schools in the experimental group were maintained at a low level, and themosq-ovitrap index(MOI)was lower than 5,which was significantly lower than that of the control group. Conclusion It is suggested that education departments should pay attention to the environmental management inside and outside the campus, establish a normalized mosquito breeding site cleaning system, and regularly implement control measures to reduce the density of mosquitoes on campus to a harmless level,to avoid the emergence and spread of insect-borne infectious diseases on campus.
