Abstract:Objective To study the secondary transmission toxicity of Metarhizium anisopliae gel bait against adult German cockroaches, and to provide reference for the application of Metarhizium anisopliae in the prevention and control of pests. Methods The first toxicity experiment was conducted by gel bait; The secondary toxicity experiment was conducted using the method of feeding insect carcasses from the previous poisoning experiment. Results A synergistic effect was achieved with the specific concentration of Metarhizium anisopliae spores and low dose boric acid, reducing the killing time from 15 days to 9 days. Moreover, the use of boric acid at a rate of 3%was much lower than that of ordinary chemical insecticides on the market. The mortality rate of secondary poisoning of adult German cockroaches with the gel bait reached 100%,and the poisoning effect was significant. Conclusion The self-made bait has good single transmission toxicity against German cockroaches, providing application prospects for German cockroach control.
