Virus detection from Blattella germanica collected in Xi'an City

Abstract:Objective To investigate the status of virus carried by Blattella germanica in different habitats for prevention and control of diseases caused by the spread of vectors in Xi'an.Methods Blattella germanica was treated by directly immersed in Hark's and immersed in Hark's after pound to pieces.Real-Time PCR methods were performed to detect the enterovirus and adenovirus.Hepatitis B sruface antigen was detected by ELISA methods.Results All of the 5 Blattella germanica species were positive for one or more virus indicated the virus carrying rate was 100%.The Blattella germanica from different habitats were positive for enterovirus (100%).HBsAg was positive in the Blattella germanica from farmer's market,restaurant,hospital and residential area,with the rate of 80%.Conclusion The situation of virus carried by Blattella germanica was serious in this city.There seems existing a higher risk of spreading vector-borne diseases.The relationship between the virus carrier status and the incident of disease needs to be noticed and investigated.
