Abstract:Objective To discuss resistance mechanism and provide theoretical basis for delaying resistance and its treatment through the detecting synergism of piperonyl buoxide to chlorpyrifos and propoxur in different developmental stages of Blattella germanica. Methods The synergistic effect of synergist PBO was detected with topical application method in the laboratory. Results The bioassay results showed the insecticide tolerance went up with life stage development. The LD50s of propoxur and chlorpyrifos were 5.168 μg per insect and 2.021 μg per insect to 6 week-old nymphs, and 1.080 μg per insect and 0.118 μg per insect to 4-week-old nymphs. The synergistic test revealed that PBO played some synergistic effect on tested insecticides in different developmental stage of B.germanica, but the synergistic effect was not significant. The highest synergistic effect on propoxur in 4 week-old nymphs (SR) was 2.31 folds, the lowest SR was 1.11 folds in 5 week-old nymphs;for chlorpyrifos, the highest and lowest SR were 2.73 folds in male and 1.69 folds in 5 week-old nymphs respectively. Conclusion Mixed-function oxidases (MFO) might involve in the resistance of B.germanica to chlorpyrifos and propoxur in a developmental stage,in reality, control can be combined with residual spraying.
