Analysis on the mosquito density monitoring in Jingzhou City from 2014 to 2016

Abstract:Objective To master the mosquito species and distribution in Jingzhou,and provide scientific basis for mosquito control.Methods Light trap method was used to monitor the mosquito density in residential areas,parks,hospitals,farmers,livestock shed once in the middle of each month from March to December.Results The average density from 2014 to 2016 was 1.08,0.45 and 1.20 insects per lamp per hour,Culex quinquefasciatus was the dominant population accounted for 91.05%.The peak activity season was from May to October.Mosquito densities in different habitats from high to low were as follow:livestock shed,farmers,residential areas,hospitals and parks.Conclusion It is necessary to take comprehensive control measures on the basis of environmental governance to control the mosquito density in the national standard range.
