Analysis on monitoring results of rodent population and density in Mianyang City in 2016

Abstract：Objective To grasp the population composition and its seasonal fluctuation of rodent in Mianyang City,and provide scientific basis for rodent control.Methods Night trap method was used to monitor the rodent density.In the four directions of the city proper,food services,natural villages and residential areas were selected as the monitoring premises,four directions monthly rotation monitoring.Results A total of 146 animals belonging to 5 species of rodents were captured in the whole year,with an average density of 2.33％.The dominant species was Anourosorex squamipes,accounting for 55.48％,followed by Rattus norvegicus,accounting for 29.45％.The fluctuations of the rodent density followed a single peak curve,the peak value appeared in September.Conclusion The level of rodent density was high,Anourosorex squamipes and Rattus norvegicus were the focus for prevention and control.
