Surveillance of mosquitoes and flies in Changzhou Port in 2016

Abstract：Objective To understand the population constitution,density and seasonal fluctuation of mosquitoes and flies in Changzhou Port in 2016.Methods The light-trapping and cage traps were used for mosquitoes and flies surveillance respectively.Results Mosquitoes were identified as 4 genera 6 families.The density of mosquitoes was 20.33 insects per lamp per hour and the main species was Culex pipiens pallens (Culex quinquefasciatus).Flies were identified as 2 species 5 genera 6 families.The density of flies were 47.3 insects per cage for one day and the main species was Lucilia sericata.The seasonal fluctuation of mosquitoes and flies exhibited a single peak in August.Conclusion Species and distribution of mosquitoes and flies in Changzhou were grasped which provides reference for medical vector control.
