Development and mosquito repellent activity test of solid fresher of citronella oil

Abstract：Objective To develop the citronella oil solid air fresher (A-1),and test the repellent activity against Aedes albopictus.Methods The repellent activity of A-1 against Aedes albopictus was evaluated using "Y"-tube olfactometer and cylinder method.Results The repellent rate of the air fresher A-1 was over 75.0％ when tested with" Y"-tube olfactometer,and more than 67.0％ while tested with the cylinder method.Conclusion The citronella oil solid air fresher(A-1) containing 1.0％ gellan gum,20.0％ hydrogenated castor oil and 15.0％ citronella oil is of better appearance,hardness,stability and repellent activity.
