Investigation on termites damage and the integrated management for historic buildings in Yibin City

Abstract：Objective To master the damage caused by termites against historic buildings in Yibin City.Methods The cultural historic buildings were completely investigated in Yibin City.Using the technology of termites integrative management against ancient buildings as follow:check to termites' damage→powder spray to eliminate termites→trap and kill the termites→perfusion treatment→eliminate the termites in environment→long term monitoring.Results 46 places of the cultural historic buildings were investigated.Ten termites species were found,and the Reticulitermes was the main occurred species.There were 27 places historic buildings damaged by termites on varying degrees,the overall damage-rate reached 58.70％,and 16 places were seriously damaged (Ⅲ level) accounting for 34.78％.The technology of termites integrative management could effectively control the damage by termites in ancient buildings.Conclusion The investigation finds out the current situation and provides scientific basis for the termites control of historic buildings in Yibin City.
