Investigation on population distribution and invasion status of ticks in Qufu City

Abstract:Objective To master the population distribution,activity rhythm and invasion status of ticks in Qufu City.Methods The parasitic ticks were collected from the host skin by hand or tweezer.The free ticks were collected manually with white cloth from the grassland or shrubbery.The collected ticks were identified and classified.Results There were 294 and 62 ticks collected in the host animal and in the environment respectively.The collected ticks were Haemaphysalis longicornis.There were 130 positive hosts out of 458 host animals with the positive rate of 28.38%.Conclusion The collected 356 ticks were H.longicornis,which was the dominant species.The density peak appeared in summer and autumn.
