Study on the anti-fertility effect of different curcumol forms on plateau pika

Abstract：Objective To study the effect of 0.2％ curcumas bait and the mixture of curcumol powder with oatmeal on plateau pika,and provide scientific basis for the plateau pika control.Methods The control effect,reproduction rate,feeding,safety and other technical indexes of plateau pika were studied in different fields.Results The average control effects of curcumol bait on plateau pika were 35.17％ and 50.35％ respectively in the year of 2011 and 2012,while those of curcumol powder were 36.44％ and 57.91％.The average abortion ratcs were 49.50％ and 66.9％ while treated with curcumol baits,and 51.60％ and 72.10％ with curcumol powder.Conclusion 0.2％ curcumol bait and curcumol powder displayed good control effect on plateau pika,and the secondary poisoning of the natural enemies and non-target animals was not investigated.
