Comparison of mosquito capture efficacy between labor hour method and black box method

Abstract：Objective To study the difference between the labor hour method and black box method in mosquito surveillance,and discuss which method was better in Huating rural area.Methods Labor hour method and black box method were applied.Results The results showed that the species and constitution ratio of mosquitoes were different significantly.When black box method was conducted,Culex pipens pallens was the dominant species,accounting for 89.8％,followed by Cx.tritaeriorhynchus (4.5％),Aedes albopictus (2.6％),Armigeres subalbatus (2.8％) and Anopheles sinensis(0.3％).When labor hour method was carried out,the dominant species were Culex pipens pallens (63.6％),Cx.tritaeriorhynchus (33.2％) and Anopheles sinensis (3.2％).The species and proportion of female and male mosquitoes captured were different with methods.The seasonal fluctuation patterns were similar in the two methods.Conclusion With the advantage of easy operation and safe,the black box method is the preferred method for monitoring mosquitoes in Huating rural area.
