Investigation on the density of mosquito larvae in Xi'an City

Abstract：Objective To study the larval density and seasonal fluctuation of mosquitoes in Xi'an.Methods Mosquito larvae spoon method was used.Results From 2011 to 2015,a total of 1 500 spoons of water were sampled,and 675 spoons were positive accounting for 45％.25 706 mosquito larvae were collected,and the average mosquito larvae density was 38 larvae per spoon.The seasonal fluctuation curve showed that the peak of mosquito larva density appeared in July.Conclusion The larval density and seasonal fluctuation of mosquitoes in Xi'an were better understood,which provided a scientific basis for mosquito control.
