Insecticide resistance of Culex pipiens pallens in Weifang City

Abstract：Objective To survey the insecticide resistance of Culex pipiens pallens larvae in eight districts of Weifang City.Methods Dipping method was used to determine the resistance level of larvae.Results The mosquitoes in the eight districts developed 13.32-7.12 folds resistance to temephos,7.89-1.99 to permethrin,5.78-4.26 to propoxur,4.34-1.61 to fenobucarb,3.98-1.83 to deltamethrin and 2.02-0.72 to beta-cypermethrin.Conclusion Culex pipiens pallens in Weifang was resistant to temephos,permethrin,propoxur and fenobucarb at different levels.Insecticide application strategy should be adapted to the results of surveillance.
