Efficacy observation of four kinds of baits against Blattella germanica

Abstract：Objective To observe the effect of four kinds of baits against Blattella germanica in small restaurants.Methods Choosing four kinds of baits with different active ingredients and formulations,placing baits in active field of Blattella germanica and using sticky traps to monitor cockroach density before and after the baits application and to evaluate the killing effects.Results Seven days after the baits application,the density of Blattella germanica decreased 66.58％ in restaurants treated with 12％ boric acid gel baits,75.82％ with 0.05％ fipronil gel baits and 32.32％ with 1.5％ acephatebaits.0.1％ chlorpyrifos baits held little cockroach control effect.Conclusion The effects of gel baits against Blattella germanica were significantly better than the powder formulations,0.05％ fipronil gel bait was the best of the four baits.
