Rodent density analysis in Jinzhou City from 2012 to 2016

Abstract：Objective To provide a theoretical basis for the scientific guidance of rodent prevention and control work through statistical analysis of the monitoring results of rats.Methods Night trapping method was carried out to monitor the rodent on mid month in residential areas,catering services,the villages and the rural villages outside.Results Totally 35 217 traps were placed in Jinzhou from 2012 to 2016,and 752 rodents were captured.The yearly rodent densities were 2.25％,2.24％,2.19％,1.88％ and 2.13％ from 2012 to 2016.The rodent density in villages was higher than in city.The main rodents were Rattus norvegicus,Cricetulus barabensis and Mus musculus,respectively accounting for 67.64％,17.64％ and 14.46％.Rattus norvegicus was the dominant species.Conclusion The population structure and densities of rodents in Jinzhou were better understood.It provided scientific guidance for rondent control.
