Study on honey-scraping-line method for ant monitoring

Abstract：Objective To establish a simple and practical method for indoor ant monitoring.Methods A honeyscraping-line method was established for indoor ants monitor and it was compared with other common monitoring methods by observing their number of lures and luring time in field tests through the virtue of Beijing monitoring network for indoor vectors.Results Honey-scraping-line method was more sensitive than visual method.There was no significant difference between different honey lures.The monitoring board could be observed after 10-20 min and the results were similar to those after 24 hours.Conclusion Honey-scraping-line method was an ant monitoring method of simple operation,less influenced by anthropogenic factors in doors and could be used for ant monitoring work.
