Survey on flies density in Chongqing from 2014 to 2016

Abstract：Objective To understand the density,population structure and seasonality of flies by survey on flies in Chongqing from 2014 to 2016,and provide a scientific basis for fly control in Chongqing.Methods The flies visual observation method and flies strip method were carried out from mid of April to November every year.Results Houseflies were the dominant species(83.16％).Flies density peak appeared in July and August every year.Among all the monitoring sites,farmers markets held the highest flies density (2.32 pieces/room),followed by schools (2.01 pieces/room).Conclusion Comprehensive control measures should be taken to control flies,focusing on the farmers' markets and the school places,in order to reduce the incidence and epidemic of fly-blows diseases.
