Resistance of Culex pipiens pallens in Gaomi City of Shandong Province

Abstract：Objective To survey the insecticides resistance level of Culex pipiens pallens in Gaomi City.Methods Dipping method was used to determine the median lethal concentration (LC50) of mosquito larvae,obtaining the resistance ratios (RRs) by comparing LC50 s with susceptible strain.Results The wild population of Culex pipiens pallens of Gaomi City developed 13.32,5.34,4.59 and 4.27 folds resistance respectively to temephos,propoxur,permethrin and fenobucarb.The mosquitoes were susceptible to deltamethrin and beta-cypermethrin with RR of 2.56 and 1.39.Conclusion The surveillance on insecticides resistance should be carried out routinely,and provide guidance for using insecticides reasonably.
