Effects of meteorological factors on population density of Meriones unguiculatus in plague foci of Hebei Province

Abstract：Objective To study the effects of climatic meteorological factors on the population densities of Meriones unguiculatus in plague foci of Hebei Province.Methods The densities of Meriones unguiculatus and synchronic meteorological data were collected from 1990 to 2013 in plague natural foci of Hebei Province.The variables were selected by step wise regression.The linear regression was used to analyze the correlation and hysteresis between meteorological factors and density of Meriones unguiculatus.Results From 1990 to 2013,the densities of Meriones unguiculatus were 0-3.75 pieces/hm2 in plague foci of Hebei.Annual rainfall in last year,average relative humidity in last year and days of daily precipitation ≥ 0.1 mm in last year were closely related to the density of Meriones unguiculatus.Conclusion Meteorological factors may have important influence on density variation of Merioncs unguiculatus in plague loci of Hebei Province,and there is hysteresis effect on density of Meriones unguiculatus.
