Entomopathogenic fungus for biological control of vectors

Abstract:Entomopathogenic fungus is a fungus that can act as a parasite of insects,induce epidemics of insects,and kill or seriously disable them.In this presentation the highlight of some success of entomopathogenic fungus including Metarhizium anisopliae and Beauveria bassiana for control of mosquitoes,cockroaches,houseflies,ticks,midges and other urban pests are reviewed with emphasizing on fungus as biological factor for mosquitoes.Further development and implementation of entomopathogenic fungus in vector management is also envisaged.
