Abstract:Pituitary stalk thickening(PST)can cause physiological and pathological functional changes, with particularly significant effects on children and adolescents in the growth and development period. The causes of PST in children and adolescents may involve tumors,infections/inflammations,congenital diseases, etc. The core of diagnosis and treatment lies in differentiating tumor diseases from non-tumor lesions to avoid the serious impact of misdiagnosis, mistreatment, missed diagnosis, and delayed diagnosis on the quality of life and prognosis of children and adolescents,so multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment are often required. For this purpose our project team invited experts to write the guidelines for multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment of PST in Chinese children and adolescents, aiming to provide a reference for clinical treatment and guide clinical medical staff in the rational treatment of PST in children and adolescents.
