Abstract:Objective To explore the intervention effects of 5E nursing guided by the empowerment theory on patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage(aSAH).Methods 140 patients with aSAH admitted to the Neurosurgery Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University from January 2022 to June 2024 were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group by using convenience sampling method. The control group received routine nursing intervention, while the observation group received 5E nursing intervention guided by empowerment theory besides the routine nursing intervention like that of the control group. The National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS),Exercise of Self-Care Agency Scale(ESCA),Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS),and Generic Quality of Life Inventory-74(GQOL-74)were used to evaluate the neurological function recovery,self-care ability, psychological state, and quality of life of the patients. Results After the intervention, the NIHSS score,SAS score, and SDS score of the observation group were lower compared with control group, while the ESCA score,GQOL-74 scores of each dimension, and the total score were higher compared with control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions 5E nursing guided by empowerment theory can promote the recovery of neurological function in aSAH patients, improve their psychological state, and enhance their self-care ability and quality of life.It is worthy of promotion and application in clinical practice.
