Abstract:Objective To verify gender differences in depression/anxiety status between male and female patients with hemifacial spasm after microvascular decompression(MVD),and to explore the correlation between this difference and postoperative recovery so as to provide scientific basis for targeted predictive nursing intervention. Methods A total of 120 patients with hemifacial spasm after MVD were retrospectively included and divided into male and female groups with 60 patients in each group.General data, spasticity rating,depression/anxiety scoring and postoperative complications were collected and analyzed by statistical means. Results After MVD,the emotional disorder of female patients was more severe. When the depression and anxiety scale score was greatly improved, the risk of ineffective microvascular decompression became much lower. Conclusion This study provides a new direction and theoretical basis for the development of predictive nursing, that is,psychological intervention may be the key measure of rehabilitation after microvascular decompression.
