Abstract:Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect and complications of middle meningeal artery(MMA)embolization on chronic subdural hematoma(CSDH).Methods AA retrospective analysis was conducted on the data of patients with CSDH treated with MMA embolization at the First People's Hospital of Jining City. The clinical information, prognosis, imaging results, and surgical outcomes of the patients were recorded and studied. Results Forty sides of MMA embolization were performed on 34 patients with CSDH.Follow up examinations showed that 30 patients fully recovered to normal, and 4 patients with unilateral CSDH underwent drilling and drainage surgery. One patient became blind due to dangerous vascular anastomosis. Conclusion MMA embolization is an effective surgical option for CSDH,but the potential risk of MMA anastomosis may affect the surgical strategy.
