Advances in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Tumors Associated with Neurofibromatosis Type 1
Abstract:Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) is one of the most common autosomal dominant neurological genetic diseases and the most common hereditary cancer susceptibility syndrome, with an increased lifetime risk of developing tumors. Effective treatment methods for tumors associated with neurofibromatosis have been limited in the past. In recent years, significant progress has been made in the drug treatment of NF1-related tumors, with mitogen-activated kinase inhibitors (MEKi), such as selumetinib, having been approved for clinical use. Clinical research on other MEKis and mTOR inhibitors is also being extensively conducted. This review summarizes the latest advances in the diagnosis and treatment of tumors associated with NF1.
