Clinical Analysis of One Case of Pulmonary Arteriovenous Malformation Complicated with Recurrent Cerebral Abscess
Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical characteristics of patients with pulmonary arteriovenous malformation (PAVM) complicated with cerebral abscess, and to enhance the understanding of central nervous system complications associated with PAVM. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the case data of a patient with PAVM complicated with recurrent cerebral abscess, summarizing its clinical features and reviewing related literature. Results This case involved a patient with PAVM complicated with recurrent cerebral abscess. Due to the patient's family reasons, no intervention was performed on PAVM, leading to repeated occurrences of cerebral abscess, with this being the third recurrence, and the patient's neurological dysfunction worsened. Conclusion PAVM is a rare disease, and complications such as cerebral abscess are relatively severe. For cases with unexplained and recurrent cerebral abscess, PAVM should be screened for early diagnosis and active treatment to avoid adverse effects on the patient's prognosis.
