Abstract:In recent years, significant progress has been made in the field of diagnosis and treatment of atlantoaxial dislocation. High-resolution imaging techniques, such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI),3D computed tomography (CT) and 3D printing technology, provide clinicians with clearer and more accurate imaging data, making it possible to make early diagnose and evaluation of the dislocation and its accompanying anatomical abnormalities. In terms of treatment, the continuous maturity of surgical techniques such as heavy skull traction under general anesthesia, posterior screw rod reduction, lateral interarticular distraction and interbody fusion, transoral anterior release, and transoral anterior screw plate reduction has led to more satisfactory radiological realignment results and neurological recovery for patients. In the future, the treatment of atlantoaxial dislocation will gradually adopt individualized plans based on standard reduction surgical techniques, combined with the specific conditions of the patients to formulate more precise plans, and further improve the prognosis and quality of life.
