Development,validity,and reliability test of a questionnaire on knowledge attitude and belief practice of blood pressure management in middle-aged and elderly patients with intracranial aneurysm complicated with hypertension

Abstract:Objective To develop a questionnaire on knowledge attitude and belief practice of blood pressure management in middle-aged and elderly patients with intracranial aneurysms and hypertension,and test its reliability and validity to provide a basis for targeted blood pressure management strategies. Methods Based on the knowledge attitude belief practice (KAP) framework,the questionnaire was formed by literature analysis,semi-structural interview,Delphi expert correspondence and pre-investigation. A convenience sampling method was used to select 261 middle-aged and elderly patients with intracranial aneurysms and hypertension from March 2023 to September 2023 in Department of Neurosurgery,Union Hospital of Tongji Medical College,Huazhong University of Science and Technology for preliminary experimental investigation of the questionnaire for item analysis and reliability and validity evaluation,and a formal questionnaire was formed. Results The questionnaire included 3 dimensions,43 items in total. Cronbach's α coefficient was 0.991,CVI was 0.857,and CVI was 0.807,0.837 and 0.879,respectively. Conclusions This questionnaire of knowledge attitude and belief practice of blood pressure management in middle-aged and elderly patients with intracranial aneurysm and hypertension has good reliability and validity and can be used to investigate the current situation of blood pressure management knowledge attitude and belief practice in middle-aged and elderly patients with intracranial aneurysm and hypertension.
