Abstract:Gliomas are the most common and lethal malignant primary tumors of the central nervous system.Although traditional treatment methods such as surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy have improved the survival rate of patients to some extent, their effectiveness is often limited for high-grade gliomas, especially glioblastomas. In recent years, immune checkpoint inhibitors have attracted widespread attention as an innovative treatment approach. This review aims to help readers understand the mechanism of action and the latest advances in clinical applications of immune checkpoint inhibitors in the treatment of glioma, while pointing out the challenges in current research and future research directions,in order to provide new ideas and strategies for the treatment of glioma patients.
