Application and exploration of"visualization"of neuroanatomy in neurosurgery teaching

Abstract：Objective To evaluate the value of"visualization"(including"association","concrete"and"formulation")of neuroanatomical knowledge in neurosurgery teaching.Methods Five-year clinical undergraduates enrolled in neurosurgery were randomly divided into observation group and control group.The control group received traditional neurosurgical instruction.By contrast,the observation group received"visualization"teaching apart from the content of the control group.Teaching was organized and implemented by the same teacher.Objective examination by test paper and subjective questionnaire,including comprehensive evaluation of course and personal degree of satisfaction on learning effect,were conducted by students who received different teaching modes.Results Compared with the evaluation results of students in the control group,that of students in the observation group who received additional intuitive teaching upregulated significantly not only in the examination of objective questions(P＜0.05),but also in comprehensive assessment of course and personal degree of satisfaction on learning efficacy(P＜0.05).Conclusion Visualized teaching of neuroanatomic knowledge obviously improved students'ability to master neurosurgery knowledge.So,teaching effect of visualized teaching is better than conventional instruction of neurosurgery.
