Abstract:Objective The factors affecting the post-operative recurrence of chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH) were discussed. Methods The clinical data of 116 cases of CDSH who underwent burr hole drainage were analyzed retrospectively. The univariatie and multivariate analyses were performed to analyze the relationship between CSDH recurrence and the possible risk factors including age, sex, bleeding tendency, intracranial pneumatosis, subdural effusion, with or without post-operative knee-chest position, and intracranial fluid accumulation. Results In the study, recurrence occurred in 11 cases with a recurrence rate of 9.5%,which was associated with knee-chest position therapy (P <0.05).The other factors were not associated with the recurrence of CSDH.Conclusion Kneechest position therapy can decrease the post-operative recurrence of chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH).
