Abstract:Objective The difference of brain edema after cerebral hemorrhage between the patients who had taken aspirin long-term and other patients who had not taken aspirin was studied. Methods The aquporin-4 (AQP4) was detected by immunopositive in the edema brain of cerebral hemorrhage of 29 cases who had taken aspirin for a long-term and 31 cases did not take aspirin. The results were analyzed by statistics software. Results The expression of AQP4 in the brain tissues surrounding edema of 29 cases taking aspirin for a long time were negative in 4 cases, weak positive in 11 cases, moderate positive in 7 cases and strong positive in 7 cases. But the expression of 31 cases without aspirin in-take was negative in 5 cases, weak positive in 10 cases, moderate positive in 8 cases and strong positive in 8 cases. There was no significant difference in the positive expression between aspisin taking group and no aspirin taking group (P>0.05).Conclusion A long-term aspirin in-take does not affect the brain edema of patients with cerebral hemorrhage.
